Happy 2012…
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. The end of the year is the one time each year that I know for sure that I’m going to get time away. This year was no different. I really unplugged for a week or two and it’s actually been difficult to get back into the swing of things. But today I got back into the gym for a lunch time workout and now I’m writing my first Headache of 2012. Looks like I’m finally getting the wheels off the ground. I hope you are too.
Headache of the Week: Too Much Ice
For whatever reason a lot of people are surprised to find out that my vice of choice is soda. Specifically, I love Mountain Dew. I don’t drink alcohol and I can walk away from cookies, cakes and a lot of other junk if I want. But man do I love some Dew. Now before you go casting stones, I know it’s not healthy. I go through spurts where I won’t drink it for months (even years) and then I’ll have times where I drink it like it’s my job. So I’m human…let’s move on.
It’s the Drive-Thrus…
One of the things at restaurants that drives me crazy is too much ice. Of course it typically doesn’t happen when you are dining in because most places give you free refills. So if they give you a whole cup of ice, they will have to come back more often to refill your drink. NO. NO. NO. It’s the drive-thru that you get screwed. It’s like every drive-thru in America is in a competition to see how much ice they can cram into a cup. Sometimes it’s so bad you can’t even get a straw to the bottom of the cup. And when the straw finally reaches the bottom and you get to take your first (and last) swig of ice cold soda, you realize…oh crap…I just paid $2 for a cup of soda flavored ice. DOH!
The Bottom Line…
I get that it’s about the bottom line ($$$). Companies have to save money where they can. But it’s a Headache, that’s for sure. So what I recommend you do is ask for “No Ice” or “Light Ice” when you order. There is no reason your soda needs to have enough ice to make it across the country. It’s not a kidney for crying out loud. So let’s make a pact to either drink our sodas in an appropriate amount of time or throw them away. This way can start ridding the world of the Headache of TOO MUCH ICE.
- Upper Cervical Chiropractic does an amazing job at helping people who suffer from headaches and migraines, but not all of life’s headaches can be helped by an adjustment. I promise to do my part to help rid the world of the headaches that come from misalignments of the neck but we are all going to have to chip in to help rid the world of the headaches that come from each other. Will you do your part? Don’t be a headache. –
