This week I have been invited to speak to some highschool kids at a local Christian school.  One of the teachers asked me if I would come speak to the class and said I could talk about whatever I wanted.  So I thought long and hard about what I would talk to them about and I decided not to talk about what I do.  Actually, I’m not going to talk about health much at all.  What I decided to talk to them about was their Genius.

2011 Big Christmas Bailout - November 1st, 2011

Over the last few years it seems like everyone is getting bailed out…everyone but you of course.  Well it’s time for that to change.  This  year we are having a Big Christmas Bailout and giving our patients and online family a chance to win some extra money for Christmas.

Bad Advice: Whiplash - October 25th, 2011

Crazy Uncle Ned

Have you ever been given bad advice?  I mean really bad advice.  Like bet your life savings on the Cubs sort of advice.  It seems like everyone has that person in their life that is known for bad advice.  It’s your crazy Uncle Ned that is always telling you a stock to invest in or a home remedy to try.  And even though you know better, there are times you find yourself saying “What if Ned’s right?  He says he’s 100% sure this time.”  His confidence far outweighs his competence.  And next thing you know you find yourself taking Uncle Ned’s bad advice all the while completely ignoring his reputation[...]

Headache of the Week – Spam Texts - October 23rd, 2011

Seems like everyone enjoyed the idea of a “Headache of the Week.”  Turns out I’m not the only one who is annoyed by check writers, so last weeks post was a big hit.  This week I’m struggling a bit with the Headache topic.  Not because I can’t come up with anything.  It’s because I just got done watching game 4 of the World Series and right now my headache is the Texas Rangers.  I don’t normally talk about sports in my blogs, but since I have been born and raised in the St.Louis area…I get a pass this week.  Go Cards!

End of the Year Resolution. - October 19th, 2011

As of October 19th there are only 74 days left in 2011.  74!  Can you believe it?  Now normally this is the time of year the people get out their fat pants and throw caution to the wind, but I’m going to do something different this year.  I’m going to commit to an End of the Year Resolution.

Headache of the Week – First Edition - October 16th, 2011

I have been an Upper Cervical Chiropractic patient for a long time.  I started chiropractic care as a Freshman in college when I started experiencing unrelenting headaches.  And although I no longer consider myself a headache sufferer, I realized the other day that I often experience headaches.  Now it’s not what you think.  I don’t typically have the headaches I had that sent me to the chiropractor’s office.  But no matter how well adjusted my spine is, it seems like there are headaches in life that you just can’t avoid.

So for fun, I thought I would start taking time each week to share with you some of life’s headaches.  I hope you enjoy.

History of Trauma? Yes! - October 8th, 2011

I have problems.

I often tell people that I didn’t get into the chiropractic profession because I am without health problems.  It’s quite the opposite of that.  I started going to a chiropractor when I was 18 years old because of horrible headaches.  These headaches seemed to come on for no apparent reason and when the doctor asked me if I had any history of accidents or traumas, I told him no.

10 Signs you have wandered into a Chiropractic clinic… - July 20th, 2011

There are a lot of silly things that happen in every profession.  The chiropractic profession is no different.  I thought it would have a little fun at our own expense.  I admit, some of this stuff I’m guilty of.  Thankfully, most of them, I am not.  Enjoy.

The Monster Inside - July 7th, 2011

Skillet

One of my guilty pleasures is a band called “Skillet.”  They ROCK!  One of my favorite songs of theirs is a song called “Monster.”  I thought about the song the other day when I was talking to a patient.  Now I know the  song isn’t about health but it made me think of a simple way of explaining the different ways we think about our body.
